Yeah costly mistake at Hell corner which cost him time there and in mountain straight speed.

Statistically most "rock spiders" have spent some time in their lives as a church youth group leader.
Think about that.

Are the GTE Am Porsche teams running the 2016 spec RSR or the 911 bodied Cayman RSRs from last year?

They brought it home in a solid overall P11. I watched the race all day on Sunday, and it was bloody epic.

I got to watch 18 of the 24 hrs including the start at 2.30am. Within 2 laps the GT3s were passing the back markers in group 3
A very cool race.

I managed to watch a few hours including the resumption of racing after the red flag - obviously the Europeans have totally different workplace safety laws to Australia as it was concerning to see how little vision was available around the track due to fog and rain as well as poorly identified recovery utes towing cars in the fog and gloom with little or no slowing down of race vehicles.
The basic rule is each flag point must have clear vision of the adjoining points and that did not exist in many locations and incar footage showed lack of vision on numerous occasions.
Many close calls were noted and I believe it was just luck that saw no serious incidents due to the circumstances.
The acid test is being able to state under oath at a coronial inquest that you had exercised due diligence and done everything under your power to ensure ongoing safety of others especially competitors and officials whether volunteers or not. Based upon what I saw I could not and whilst admiring the tenacity and skill of competitors I believe the race director was ever so fortunate.

Great drive by Matt Campbell and another example of why he is a rising talent.

Too old for women so it's cars and truffles from now on.

It was weird, because the RLM guys cited that exact reason for the red flag - no visibility between marshal posts. But they restarted under much the same conditions. Not that I was complaining as a spectator, but I didn't really understand the thinking.
