Statistically most "rock spiders" have spent some time in their lives as a church youth group leader.
Think about that.

Not likely to add this series to the list of categories that will draw me to a track or a TV. Four pot diesel racing - no thanks. Will eat my words if the series turns out to be a winner, but I think Mr McNamara made the right choice in AGT.

The whole thing sounds like it was dreamed up on a Friday afternoon, by a bunch of marketing hacks after a big liquid lunch. Be interesting to see who sees any value in it by signing up to drive one of these monstrosities. We own a dual cab Mitsi. Great family car, great for towing the camper, carting the dogs around etc.
But a race car......gimme a fkn break!!

Let's at least give the series a chance and watch a few races before we shoot it down. These delays don't make it look good though...

Didn't Ryal Harris sign a contract with West End Mazda 2-3 years ago to run a BT50 when they get it up and running? Personally, I don't like his chances, this many delays really doesn't look good for the future.

I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst

Pretty much this.

Reminds me of that series back in the 90s where they managed to get a total of 6 utes. There has been some failed racing series over the years that maybe one or two people have made some money out of while everyone else loses out.
- Suzuki swift V2.0
- Daewoo series
- MG series
- Oz trucks
- Legends (though there is a shop in Goulburn)
- Iroc Porsches

Even the tracklife of the Mini and Lotus cup series was questionable.

I can understand people wanting to race dual cab off road in Dakar like races, that interesting and I can see the marketing value in that but not road racing for these things. If they were like the Nascar Trucks that would be cool but I doubt such a series would survive for long as the concept has been floated by various people over the years with no success. I know that the V8 ute is close to extinction but I'd like to see the category stick around as its a hell of a lot more interesting then what Supercars have dreamed up.

Besides if I want to see bunch of dual cabs racing each other all I have to do is drive home from work.

Unlike yowies, these things do actually exist.

Homologated vehicles are the Mazda BT50/Ford Ranger twins, the brothers isuzu Dmax/Holden Colorado, and Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi Triton.

Given the difficult gestation period of it all, "weighing it up" is the most, safe for consumption term.
