Emery takes race 1 and closes the gap on Talbot.

Talbot loses it on his own in race 2, loses a lap and huge Championship ramifications.

Penalties to the likes of Walsh etc for re-start infringements and driver errors has TQ winning race 2.
Emery has a 33 point lead going into the final race of the Championship.

Down to the wire it is then. If I'm still at work for the last race, I'll watch it on my phone!

Congratulations to Geoff Emery on winning the Sprint Championship.
Emery was losing positions and Talbot gaining them in race 3 which made for a thrilling finish.
Talbot will be having nightmares about his race 2 mistake.
The battle between Ross, Richo & Walsh at the start of the race was enthralling.
Ash Walsh is bloody quick in a GT car and i hope he gets a top gig at the 12 hour.

Huge congratulations to Geoff Emery and Audi. Nothing like a cliffhanger to finish off the year ;) Commiserations to Liam Talbot.

As a quick sidenote, how good was it to see that BMW up the front at the start of Race 3?

Yep was good to see the Beemer up there.
The straight line speed of the Porker was a shock.

Really enjoyed that race. A classic championship decider.

And yeah, I'd like to see more BMW up front.

Are you there?

Even with only 11 cars the threat of rain should make for an interesting race. Talbot and Emery battling out for the title. Porsche should be handy if the rain hits but regardless of weather Talbot should be mega.

Shame that Scud isn't there but he doesn't like Sandown so I'm sure he's happier elsewhere this weekend

Nah didnt end up going. My mates wife ended up in hospital and had her gall bladder removed.

Only 11 gt cars. No volvo in v8's and 65 bucks to get in, a few extra things that stopped me from wanting to go.

Actually, if you went solo it was $73 to get in. I thought I would save the $7.95 transaction fee by buying at the gate instead of on line. Nope! Plus $30 for the paddock, and yet another $30 odd to park your car at Dandenong Road "park and view" So I walked and froze, I was pissing shards of ice and froze my knees, which are shot when they are lubricated let alone cold. Should have parked the car and used heater in the quiet bits! Still did the paddock though, and resisted temptation from all the 1/43rds in the Sherriffs stand :):(.

No GT action tomorrow, so Channel 10 it will be.

Can any of our good people please explain to me how a timed race can be called early for time certainty?

And no, I am not accepting the safety car as a reasonable answer.

Only thing I can think of would be if the race started late, so they called it early to get the schedule back on track

CP, are you referring to a specific race, or just a general question? None of yesterday's GT races went time certain.

Oh thats not good hope your mates missus is ok, thats some serious shit.

Congrats to Emery on the championship crown. I think either would be worthy champion and its great that it came down to the last race of the season to decide the championship winner. I'll keep on youtube to see if anyone puts up the races so I can see what happened.

Believe they just do minimum drop across the whole race now, whenever the team wants to do it, and a change of a minimum amount of tyres, again whenever the team wants to do it.

There is no actual "window" anymore.

I had a feeling that the race shown on Ten was called slightly early.

Don't think so, but I was at the circuit and didn't see the 10 broadcast, and didn't hear PA saying the race was being called early.
Went to a mate's place after, he had recorded it on Foxtel, so I watched that.
Each race was listed as 40 minute duration, and, according to Natsoft, each race went 41/42 minutes to the flag.
