There are murmurings around that say the SA government are considering dropping the Adelaide race now that Talem Bend is underway. If they're under pressure to keep the race running, I understand why they'd take a cheque from an Asian Audi series to keep some cash coming in. But it doesn't point to a whole heap of confidence in our local GT3 series.

I don't understand fully what has happened here (I wonder if anyone really does) but it sure is hard to up on your toes when you talk about AusGT3s currently.

Well as a positive, i guess that eliminates some street circuit carnage.

Plus they may be short in the coffers now Clipsal have walked and not been replaced. Might need all the money they can get in order to make debits and credits get close to each other.

A good interview with Tony Quinn and it sounds like he/competitor's are far from disappointed with the omission of AGT from Adelaide saying that it wasn't a preference due to the tight schedule between the 12 hour and the AGP and that the race format doesn't suit.
Also sounds like no SMP "enduro"
Interview starts around the 6 min mark.

Again on the positive side, we'll get to see teams like Absolute racing compete.

Pretty disapointing news about adelaide. Despite the potential for carnage it was always a great spectacle and the gt's were a big draw card.

Perhaps we will see a major gt race at tailem bend as a replacemenr?

After the Trass crash a couple of years ago the car had to be shipped back to Italy for a rebuild from the ground up...$400k thanks very much. Im glad they arent racing there, even with insurance is still a dumb amount of $$$ to fork out for a mistake

Great interview. I just hope, there's at least one round at Sydney whether it be sprint, enduro or the Trophy series. Outside of Newcastle (which I sadly can't see Aus GT coming to-would be awesome if they proved me wrong though), it's the closest track for me.

You cant spell Michelotto without lotto. You'll need to win it to pay their bills.

It comes from the heart not the head. Nothing wrong with that either.

There's going to be an EVO on the 488GT3 next year with drive train upgrades and some aero upgrades too. Now, if only someone would run one...

I've heard the updates cost around 20k or so which is a bit cheap for Ferrari updates.

There's also a BMW update kit which is around 30k for M6
